Ananya Lights Up The Stage @ Shilparamam

Ananya Surapaneni, currently pursuing Class XIth in Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan’s Public School, Film Nagar, Hyderabad, gave a solo performance at the amphitheatre Shilparamam Madhapur recently. Her performance was appreciated by Bharatanatyam dancer, Padma Shri Dr. Ananda Sankar Jayant and Shilparamam Director, Kishan Rao garu.

Thanks to the blessings of her gurus Vedavalli Challa garu and Madavapeddi Murthy garu, Ananya was able to leave a memorable imprint in the minds of the audience present at the venue. She started her performance by taking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati performing ‘Saraswati Shabdam’, following it with ‘Kalasapuramu Kada’, a loving item showing the love and devotion of Hanuman towards Lord Rama and ended by an epic performing the Krishna Leelas, ‘Govardhana Giri Dhara’ Tharangam.

Spending her early years in Kuwait, Ananya began showing interest in dance, prompting her parents to initiate her into the Kuchipudi art form at the age of seven years under Singaramani Challa Vedavalli Prasad Garu (Natyavedha School of Dance, Al-Ahmadi, Kuwait). Currently, she is learning from Kalaimamani Vempati Chinna Sathyam awardee, Madavapeddi Murthy Garu. She has taken part in numerable dance shows in Kuwait. The young 16-year-old has performed at various temples across the two Telugu speaking states. She has also performed for in patients at the Sparsh Hospice, a palliative care trust unit.

The interest in traditional dance led to the start of her music career at the age of 12 as a disciple of Guru Late Smt. Jayanti Siva Garu and is continuing her practice under Dr. Ramya Balaji (PhD). Ananya is a Guinness World Record Holder, awarded to her along with other dancers, who performed Kuchipudi Maha Brindha Natyam conducted by Silicon Andhra in 2014 and 2016. With a Certificate Course in Kuchipudi under her belt, young Ananya has a long way to go in her dance and music career.
