Continuing Legacy

Anupama Kylash, an exponent of Kuchipudi and Vilasini Natyam, has been educating the lovers of art in various forms by organising discussions on Indian culture and heritage. She digs into little nuggets of popular vaggyakars and gives a new angle, where some dancers pick it up and weave it into their dance ballets. Under the Thinking Cap Series, Anupama Kylash is organising a two-day conference Nirvighnam, a continuing a legacy, on the texts and traditions of India at Saptaparni, Road No 8 Banjara Hills, on 21 August 2022 and 22 August 2022 from 10.30 am to 1 pm.

On the first day, Saturday leading speakers Pankaj Saxena, Vinay Varanasi, Ramchandra Roddam and Jayachandran Surendran will present their views. Pankaj Saxena will speak on Kshetra, Shastra and Utsava – gradients of divinity, Vinay Varanasi will be exploring the connections of Valmiki’s Rama and Vyasa’s Krishna, Ramchandra Roddam will decode Fragrance of Shakti, a glimpse into Shakta World view, while Jayachandran Surendran will explain the voices of the Nayanmars and the Azhwards.

On the second day, on Sunday, Alo Ganatra will decipher Dharma Sankatas, a perspective from the Mahabharata, Nithin Sridhar will be Decoding Manusmriiti, some pointers to understand Dharmashastra texts, Ramesh Venkatraman will be enlightening Vishnu Sahsranama as a window into the landscape of Dharma, and lastly Rajarshi Nandy will reflect on Nath Yogis and Tantra Sadhana, with special focus on Matsyendranath.
