Sangeet Nataka Akademi awardee Pasumarthy Ramalinga Sastry’s student Sahitya Ramkumar is all geared up to give a live performance at Shilparamam Madhapur on Sunday 28 November 2021. Speaking to Natyahasini, Bharatanatyam dancer Sahitya says that being on stage is a feeling that can’t be translated to words. “A feeling that the entire artist community stood deprived for two long disappointing years…,” she adds.
The dancer shares that apart from the pandemic, she was stuck by the five-month sabbatical due to a severe shoulder injury that didn’t allow her to dance for herself either. “This show is special to me in many ways. My tiny steps to be able to dance again and enjoy the lovely process of rehearsing for a stage show… I can’t wait to perform my small but hard-practiced bunch of items on 28 November at Shilparamam Madhapur,” reveals Sahitya.
The Bharatanatyam dancer says that with the blessings of Almighty and her Guru, she hopes this will mark the beginning of a long streak of happy performances.
