Aishwarya Sudam, all set for solo debut

Come August 14, 2021, the Main Hall of Ravindra Bharathi will come alive with the bells of Aishwarya Sudam, disciple of Guru Dr. P Rama Devi Garu. She has been learning dance under Rama Devi Garu for the last 10 years and had the opportunity of sharing the stage with her Guru on many occasions. After a decade-long practice, the sculpted NIFT Under Graduate will be performing her Rangapravesham. Along with her Academics, Aishwarya secured First Class in Certificate and Diploma courses in Kuchipudi dance. She has also participated in various National level competitions, in places like Bhilai, Vijayawada etc.  

Aishwarya is a passionate painter, and has won many prizes for her art in National level competitions. Apart from dance, she has done a course in India Arts to dive into her love for Indian history. She enjoys playing kabbadi and badminton. She loves to try new things every year, although her love for dance remains supreme.

For Aishwarya’s Rangapravesham, her Guru Dr. Rama Devi Garu has selected those dance pieces that will bring out the dancer’s best. The pieces for the evening include Oothukkad Venkata Subba Iyyer’s composition ‘Ananda Narthana Ganapathim Bhavaye’ in Nata Ragam and Adi Talam; ‘Prahalada Pattabhisheka Sabdam’ in Mohana Ragam and Misra Chapu Talam; Munipalle Subrahmanya Kavi’s composition ‘Andamuga EE Kadha Vinave’ from Balakhanda of Adhyatma Ramayana Kirthana in Kanada Raga and Adi Talam; Vasanta Swarajati in Adi Talam; Jakkini Daruvu in Mohana Ragam and Adi Talam; Dharmapuri Javali Yera Thagunatara Sari Kadura in Shanmukhapriya Ragam and Adi Talam; and Dr. Pasumarthi Seshubabu Garu’s composition Charukesi Thillana in Adi Talam. It will be a challenge for Aishwarya to perform Charukesi Thillana as Dr. Seshubabu Garu would be present in the audience to watch it live.

The Music Orchestra includes Guru Dr. P Rama Devi on Nattuvangam, Sweta Prasad on Vocal, IV Renuka Prasad on Mridangam, Sai Kolanka on Violin, Uma Venkateswarlu on Flute, Sreedharacharya on Percussions.

The distinguished guests include: Chief Guest Sri B Shiva Kumar Garu, Chairman, Telangana Sangeet Natak Academy, Hyderabad; Guests of Honour – Prof. Bhagavathula Sethuram Garu, Retd. Prof. PS Telugu University; Yakshagana Kanteerava Dr. Pasumarthi Seshubabu Garu, Director, Kuchipudi Nritya Bharathi; Lighting of lamp – Dr. Radha Mohan Garu, Cultural Vice President, The Bombay Andhra Maha Sabha, Mumbai.

It is a Big Day for Aishwarya’s parents Malathi & Satish Sudam, and grandparents Muthyala Laxmaiah, M Shravamma and S Andalu.
