My Dream Has Come True
I had the privilege to meet and take the blessings of Sri Vishwanath Garu a couple of times, thanks to Natyaswara Convener Sri Anna Rao Garu and Smt. Sabita Ma’am. It was one of the best moments of life where I took pride in being a dancer as I could meet a legend like him. Obtaining his blessings is an artist’s dream and mine has come true.
Undoubtedly, his movies like ‘Saptapadi’, ‘Swarnakamalam’, ‘Srutilayalu’ inspired me to pursue my dancing in my childhood days with dedication and discipline. It was a mixed feeling of happiness and tension when I had to perform along with my team in front of him. But when he clapped with joy in the end gave us his blessings and mentioned that he liked our performance especially our Ramayana, it was a feeling of ecstasy.
A gentle, humble person who greets every artist with utmost respect, Sri Vishwanath Garu teaches us that an artist reaches the highest peak of success through his practise, dedication and humility. Blessed to be a small one to take his blessings.

Great Day In My Life
Along with Natyaswara convener Anna Rao Garu, I had the opportunity to visit the home of Sri K Vishwanath Garu to invite him for the Dassera Festival programmes at the Ramalayam Temple, Jubilee Hills. It was great day in my life. In my childhood, I have seen a lot of Vishwanath Garu movies, but I never expected in my life that I will perform in front of the great Legend. I performed at Shilpakala Vedika on the occasion of Tulasi Shivamani Shankarabaranam awards.
He is one director, who mixed Dance & Music and basic emotions of persons. In ‘Saagara Sangamam’ movie where Kamal Hassan got selected for the national dance competition and how he misses the chance because of his mother’s death left an impression on me.

Was Eager To Perform & Have Picture With Him
It was during my Kuchipudi training under the tutelage of Uma aunty (Late Uma Rama Rao Garu) I performed as one of the nine Goddesses, Goddess Chandraganta, in Navadurga presentation choreographed by Uma aunty. Legends like K. Vishwanath and Late Akkineni Nageshwara Rao were chief guests. That was the first time I saw K. Vishwanath garu. I still remember how I was eager and excited to perform before him and to have a picture with him post performance.
A few years later, I performed a solo Kuchipudi recital in Kuchipudi Dance Festival conducted by South Central Zone Culture at Vijayanagaram. For which K. Vishwanatha garu was a chief guest. After my performance he called Uma aunty saying: “Mee Shishyuralu mee peru nilabetindi”. When I heard his words from Uma aunty, I was so humbled. I am blessed to have had received such blessings from a Legendary personality like him. This is one of the fond memories in my dance journey which I cherish till date.
‘Swarnakamalam’ is my all-time favourite movie. I have watched it n number of times. Whenever I watch that movie, it takes me to another dimension of experience which I can’t express through words. Whenever I feel like having a bundle of inspiration and Energy, I watch it. That’s how strong impact that movie has on me.

Have Met KV Sir Twice
My interaction with Sri K Viswanath Garu has been minimal. I have met him twice – once after a programme where he appreciated our performance in an awards ceremony in his honour at Shilpakala Vedika and another time in Lepakshi, in a government festival, in which the then CM, Chandrababu Naidu felicitated the artists.
