The Telangana Sangeet Natak Akademi Chairperson and Kuchipudi exponent Deepika Reddy is bringing together senior dancers to bring out the essence of Devi on the occasion of Bathukamma Festival titled Devi Vaibhava Nrityatosavam. The three-day programme will be held at Ravindra Bharathi from 26 September from 6pm.
Speaking to Natyahasini, the Sangeet Natak Akademi Chairperson said that it is the first time that senior dancers across the city will be coming together to perform at Devi Vaibhava Nrityotsavam. On the first day of the festival on Monday, Bharatanatyam dancer, Padma Shri Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayant, Kuchipudi dancer Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Dr. Alekhya Punjala and Kathak exponent Mangala Bhatt will be performing. The chief guest of the evening is Telangana Govt. Minister Dr. Srinivas Goud.
On the second day, disciples of Gurus – Sri Pasumarthy Ramalinga Sastry, Smt. Manjula Ramaswamy of Sri Rama Nataka Niketan and Sri Perini Prakash, State Govt. Awardee will be performing. On the finale day, Smt. K Kavitha garu will be there to witness the evening’s performances. Bharatanatyam dancer Dr. Rajeswari Sainath, Kuchipudi exponent Smt. Anuradha Jonnalgada and Andhra Natyam exponent Sri Kala Krishna Garu will be performing.
The three-day dance festival at Ravindra Bharathi is a visual treat to all dance lovers.
