Subbulakshmi’s Nrityashala, dancing to infinity, presents a two-day First Annual Festival Abhyudaya Utsav, which gets underway on 3 June 2022 at Nishumbita Ballet and Theatre Group CFV+7F6, Indian Airlines Colony, Patigadda, Begumpet. On the first day, founder of Subbulakshmi’s Nrityashala, Subbulakshmi Rana and her daughter Laasya Rana will perform, which will be followed by a Bharatanatyam performance by Smt. Ashrita Vemuganti Nanduri and team.
Speaking exclusively to Natyahasini, Bharatanatyam dancer, actor and anchor, Ashrita Vemuganti says that she is grateful to have received this opportunity to perform at Abhyudaya Utsav. “After the pandemic pregnancy and motherhood, am looking forward to performing some items close to my heart,” she says. Ashrita adds that although she has been a regular at annual temple presentations, she honestly wanted some more time to gear up for a Sabha program. “But all thanks to my friend Subbulakshmi for spearheading this event and convincing a co-working mom that it’s possible. Am drawing inspiration from her and my Sadyoni team of partner Vaishnavi and students; they are my support system,” says Ashrita.
The Chief Guests for the evening include Dr. Madhav Deo Saraswat, Principal, The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, and Kalaratna Dr. Vanaja Uday, Asst. Prof. Dept of Dance, PS Telugu University, Hyderabad. The Guest of Honour is Ms. Amrita Chandra Raju, Vice Principal, The Hyderabad Public School. Special guests include Lt. Col. PLN Sarma (Retd.), Dr. Monitha Narendrula, Dermatologist and Dr. Vijaya Krishnan, co-founder and Director of Healthy Mother Wellness & Care.
