Kuchipudi exponent and National Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee and mana Hyderabadi, Guru Deepika Reddy, added a feather in her cap when she choreographed a dance sequence in the recently released Telugu movie ‘Uppena’. The actress who essayed the role in the dance sequence was newbie Krithi Shetty.
In the dance clip, Krithi was seen pleading to the God of Dance, Lord Nataraja, ‘Eswara Parameswara ….’ The song has been written by Chandra Bose and set to music and sung by none other than Devi Sri Prasad.
Speaking to Natyahasini, Guru Deepika Reddy said that the actress Krithi had no previous dance experience. “Krithi trained with me for a month and she was able to present the dance sequence,” Deepika Reddy stated.
On the other hand, the actress Krithi thanked Deepika Reddy for giving her so much of time, care, support and love. “I was only able to execute it because Guru Deepika Reddy guided me so incredibly. I will forever be grateful,” she said. Krithi stated that she was thankful to God for the bond she developed with the Deepanjali family. She also thanked her mother Neethika Shetty for being her strength and standing along with her like rock solid pillar.
Krithi also thanked everyone for inspiring her to always strive to create something meaningful.
