Finally, the big day for Ramya Hasini, student of Bharatanatyam dancer and Varna Arts Academy founder, Smitha Madhav, came on Friday, May 28, 2021, when officially her Arangetram was telecast on the Social Media. Natyahasini catches up with Ramya Hasini on this Big Event in her life.
Student of Class X, MNR School of Excellence, Gudimalkapur, Hyderabad, Ramya Hasini has been learning Bharatanatyam at Varna Arts Academy for over five years under Gurus Smitha Madhav and Bhargavi Parmeswaran. On making an online Arangetram debut, Ramya Hasini says that initially they were a little sceptical and tensed of the process. “My gurus explained and paved the way. I feel elated on being presented in a new way on the social platform. Now my friends and relatives who are beyond this city will be able to see me perform,” she says with a smile.
The Varna Arts Academy student speaking about the preparation for the online Arangetram debut says that most of the teaching was done through Online Classes …. “During the tail end, I had live sessions to build confidence and wipe out confusion. I received tremendous support from My Guru Smitha Madam and Bhargavi Madam made preparation easy,” says Ramya Hasini.
Replying to whether she missed out the fun while making a live debut, the young artist accepts that initially the thought too crossed her mind. “But safety is more important and having the chance to perform in my School, where I learnt is a privilege. Presence of my parents and gurus filled the vacuum,” she says proudly.
What was the reaction of her and her parents, when Smitha ma’am proposed an online Arangetram debut, Ramya Hasini says that her parents had full confidence in guru’s suggestion. “There was no second thought when this was proposed. In my parents view, only the venue changed nothing else,” Ramya Hasini states. This young dancer is also learning Keyboard and Guitar. “I am taking my Level 4 Keyboard Exam from Trinity College London very shortly. I am good at Painting and Drawing too,” says the dancer.
