Koka Hiranmayi, a doctor, has been learning dance since the age of five under the guidance of her guru Dr. Rajeshwari Sainath. She performed her Arangetram on July 5, 2012 at Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad. She was awarded the best dancer for the 112th year of Parthasarathi Swamy Sabha during the Chennai season in 2013. She took part in various ballets of her guru, some of them being Krishna Darshan, Lalita Sahasranamam, Vishnu Sahasranamam, Ganga, Thyagaraja Pancha Ratna Krithi among many others.
She performed across various venues around the globe like India Habitat Center, Krishna Gana Sabha, Naradagana Sabha, Siri Fort, Arizona (US), Doordarshan, Jaya TV etc. Being a doctor and a Bharatanatyam dancer, she has made her presence in dance ballet centred around themes such as organ donation, organised by the Medical Council of India. She took part in dance presentations supporting Khadhi weavers, organised by the Government of Telangana.
She played key roles in dance productions by Asmita empowering women like Ahalya, Peace on Earth, Chanchulakshmi, Gandhari, Menaka etc. Dance has played a key role in her medical career by moulding her mind to adapt to the growing stress associated with the profession and also expanding the mental abilities like grasping, concentration and memory that is required for the ever-challenging field of medicine. Balancing passion and profession have always been a priority for her and she finds herself fortunate for having numerous opportunities come her way. She credits her guru and parents for what she is now.
