For Our Sacred Space 29 May 2022 is a Big Day. They begin their 10th anniversary celebrations on Sunday. Sharing the news with Natyahasini, Nayantara Nanda Kumar, Founder, Our Sacred Space, says that they begin Our Sacred Space’s 10th Anniversary Celebrations on 29 May 2022. The programmes start at 10 in the morning and end at 10 in the evening. There is a cultural feast for rasikas at the Chaurah Auditorium, Our Sacred Space – a 500-seater auditorium.
According to Nayantara there is a spectacular line up of performances – Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Kalaripayattu, Tai Chi, Latin Dance, Urdu Poetry, Ghazal, Carnatic & Hindustani Music. “Many of these seasoned performers took their first steps at Our Sacred Space,” she says.
The Chief Guest is Mr. Raghuveer (IFS PCCF Retd) and Guests of Honour are Dr. Mamatha Achantha, Mrs. Annuradha Reddy Co-Convenor, INTACH Telangana, Mr. Raunaq Yar Khan, and Mrs. Ravath Thangavelu President Keyes Educational Society.
The founder says that Our Sacred Space has touched over 3,00,000 lives directly since its inception. “Authentic handlooms, handicraft and sustainable life style products will be on sale. Among those taking part include Bidakane Women’s Collective, supported Aranya Agricultural Alternatives from Zaheerabad, Paalaguttapalle Bags from Dalitwada in Chittoor District, Patachitra Painting from Bengal, Cheriyal Paintings, Malkha Handlooms, Kritikala Social Initiatives, Dastakar -Daram, Blue Lotus, natural cosmetics, rainwater harvesting, stabilised earth blocks, solar power, organic fruits and vegetables, groceries.
“A series of workshop in Natural Living, Water Colour Painting, Incense Making, Clay Modelling and Pottery will take place simultaneously,” Nayantara says.
