On the occasion of 152nd birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi, the Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, organised a photo exhibition titled ‘Life And Times Of Mahatma Gandhi’, at Shilparamam Madhapur.
Inaugurating the exhibition, MLC Smt. Surabhi Vani Devi, said that the idea of conducting such exhibitions and programmes helps to instil a sense of pride and emphasise on India’s glorious history and culture. She said that the teachings of Gandhiji are still very relevant in present time. She urged the public to follow the message of Gandhiji for cleanliness and keeping their surroundings clean and sanitize regularly, which is necessary especially in present times of Covid.
Addressing the program, Smt. Shruti Patil Director, PIB & ROB said that a series of events and exhibitions are held by Field Units of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at Hyderabad, Warangal, Nizamabad, Nalgonda beginning the mark of nationwide celebrations of 152nd birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’.
The exhibition showcased rare photos of Mahatma Gandhi depicting important moments of his life. Photographs relating to arrival of Gandhi in India from South Africa, the Non-cooperation movement, Salt satyagraha, Quit India movement, Gandhiji’s participation in the Indian freedom struggle, the activities at Sabarmati Ashram and others were displayed at the exhibition. The exhibition displayed 40 panels with photographs and texts explaining each phase of the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi. The exhibition will remain open for public for three days – from 1st to 3rd October, 2021.
Scintillating Gandhi Margam Playlet on ‘Vaishnava Janatho’ was performed as part of cultural event by the staff artists of Regional Outreach Bureau.
