The Feet On Earth under the able leadership of dancer, teacher and writer, Pujita Krishna is back with the Second Edition of the two-day Feet On Earth Festival to be held on November 25 & 26, 2023 at the Bansilalpet Stepwell, Secunderabad. Speaking to Natyahasini, the Feet On Earth, Artistic Director, Pujita Krishna, shares: “We are back with the Second Edition of our boutique arts festival, ‘Dharani’ to showcase history, arts and ecology, at the Bansilalpet Stepwell.” Pujita says that the Festival on November 25 & 26 is being held where deep earth flirts with dark waters and where stories await.
Pujita Krishna, who performs Kuchipudi and Vilasini Natyam, states that the maiden two-day The Feet On Earth Festival was held at the Salarjung Museum Auditorium on 22nd and 23rd October 2022. The artistic director says that this year at the Festival, they have featured performances, visual art, and story-telling. According to Pujita, on the first day of the event, Saturday 25 November 2023, there will be a Heritage Walk of Bansilalpet area culminating in the Stepwell and the participation fee for the Heritage Walk is Rs. 150 only. The Heritage walk is between 5pm – 5.45pm. “An arts-appreciation fee of Rs 300- for both days will be charged as a small donation towards the upkeep of the heritage structure,” she says.
Sharing the programme details, Pujita says: “I will be opening the event with a Kuchipudi performance. There will be ‘Gayon Bayon’ by Sri Sri Jorabari Satra and Mohiniyattam by Gopika Varma. On the second day, Sunday 26 November, Satwika Penna will be performing Andhra Natyam, Lavani and Marathi Theatre by Kali Billi Productions and Visual Art by Charanjeet Singh. However, on both days, there is storytelling by Kriti Stories.”
In the first edition of The Feet On Earth Festival held at Salarjung Museum Auditorium on 22nd & 23rd October 2022, dancers Sharmila Biswas, Keremane Shridhara Hegde, Srividya Angara, Pallavi Verma, Nenita Praveen, Sannidha Rajasagi and Pujita Krishna performed.
