Sahitya Ramkumar is a Hyderabad based Bharatanatyam Artiste, who has been guided meticulously by Sangeet Nataka Akademi awardee and illustrious Guru Sri Pasumarthy Ramalinga Sastry for over 14 years. She debuted in her Arangetram in 2014 to much appreciation and went on to play the leading roles in her Guru’s productions apart from presenting acclaimed Solo recitals, all of which have given her invaluable experience and learning.
She has performed at several prestigious venues across India including Narada Gana Sabha (Chennai), South Indian Cultural Association -SICA (Hyderabad), Nadaneerajanam (Tirupati), Bharatamuni Natyotsav (Kuchipudi village), Sidhartha Kala Peetham (Vijayawada) to name a few. She has had the good fortune of playing the title role of Sasirekha in yakshagana “Sasirekha Parinayam” revived by her Guru.
She now imparts the art form of Bharatanatyam to students in her humble dance school,Sāhityakalpā.
She is equipped with a distinction certificate for Bharatanatyam from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad. A strong rooted foundation in both tradition and academics has enabled Sahitya to choreograph several repertoire pieces herself. She has been learning Kuchipudi for a few years from her Guru, who hails from the village of Kuchipudi.
Sahitya wishes to delve more into Bharatanatyam choreography,teaching and performances in the years to come.
