It was a joyous moment for Asmita Das and her Guru Santhosh Kumar Thamang, when Asmita made a scintillating Bharatanatyam Arangetram at Shilpakala Vedika on 22 April 2022. Asmita Das presented a beautiful Maargam. As is customary, she began with salutations to elephant-headed God, Ganesha Stuthi, followed by Alarippu, Jathiswaram, and Shabdham. The young dancer made good use of the Covid break to practice her dance to perfection. She also presented Pada Varnam, Padam, Bhajan, Thillana and Mangalam to conclude her debut. Asmita becomes the fourth student of Guru Santhosh Thamang to make a successful debut.
The youngster was supported by her Guru Santhosh Thamang on Nattuwangam, Jaya Kumar Bharadwaja on Vocals, Srinivas Karra on Mrudangam, Venkateshwarulu on Flute, Sudhakar on Veena, and Ravi on Ghatam.
Another student of Guru Thamang, Michelle Jose will be performing her Arangetram at Shilpakala Vedika, Madhapur on 30 April 2022 from 5.30pm onwards.
