Though Guru Poornima is over, but still many students are coming forward and offering their Pranams to their Gurus. On August 7, 2021, students of Sundari Ravichandra came together and presented Guru Vandana to all the teachers of RK’s Kalanilayam at Shilparamam Madhapur. They left their imprints in their presentation.
The students strung together beautiful compositions for the evening. They began with Pushpanjali, a traditional offering of flowers to their Gurus and the audience, followed by hymns. They then presented ‘Ananda Nartana Ganapatim’, ‘Madhurashtakam’, ‘Shambho Shiva Shambho’, ‘Chakkani Thalliki’, ‘Narayanathey Namo Namo’, ‘Manasa Sanchararey’, ‘Vishnu Sthuti’, ‘Achyutam Keshavam’, ‘Palukey Bangaramayeh Na’ and ‘Govindarshita’. The selected compositions for the performance were popular ones and energetic.
Overall, for a student, Guru is Trimurti, who instils knowledge like Brahma, protection of ideals like Vishnu, teach distinction between good and evil like Shiva. The disciples of Sundari Ravichandra paid homage to gurus by remembering them whole-heartedly through Bharatanatyam. Some of the artists who performed included Satvika, Moksha Varshini, Hasini, Shruti, Sridula, Sahasra, Shanvi, Nandika, Priyanka, Kiranmayi etc.
