Swatantra Swaram Witnessed @ Salarjung Museum

At the end of the programme, all participants were presented certificates. Distinguished guests included Chief guest Dr. S Venugopala Chary, Chairman, TSIDC; Dr. A Nagender Reddy, Director, Salarjung Museum; Sri Sanem Srinivas Goud, CSM Foundation; Nitya Sudhir, co-founder, Artum Academy; G Krishnaveni, Addl. Secretary, (R) Telangana Secretariat; Laxman Dasarathi, s/o famous poet Dasarathi Krishnamacharya.

Ahead of the 76th Independence Day celebrations, patriotic fervour was witnessed at the Salarjung Museum, when ‘Swatantra Swaram’ – songs of several freedom fighters were presented on Sunday 13th August. The patriotic songs not only remind us of the struggles and sacrifices of our freedom fighters, but is also a reminder on the importance of Freedom. Sangeetha sisters – K Sangeetha Kala & M Rajyalaxmi, under the banner of Sri Kodandapani Sangeetha Vidya Samstha and Salarjung Museum, Hyderabad presented ‘Swatantra Swaram’, which consisted of music and dance performances.

Sangeetha shares songs written by Rabindranath Tagore, Ramprasad Bismil, Dasarathi, Vollathol, Kuvempu and many other poets were sung. Some of the songs were ‘Madi Swatantra Desham’, ‘Desamunu Preminchumana’, and ‘Aa Challani Samudra Garbham’, ‘Hum Bhi Aaram Uta Sakte le ghar par rehkar’, ‘Kadam rehear Badaye Ja’, ‘Dahegi Kabtalak’, ‘Pora Kabala Naalil Nalli’, ‘Vidudalai’, ‘Veera Sudanthiram’, ‘O Nanna Chetana’, ‘Jaya Bharath Janani Tanujate’, ‘Jayathi Tanuj ate Bharatha Matha’, ‘Vaishnav Janthu’, ‘Jodhi Fora’, and ‘Ganga Sindhu Narmada’.
