Actor and writer Tanikella Bharani’s ‘Gograhanam’ (Street Drama) was brought to life by Surabhi Kalakshetram artistes at the Shilparamam Madhapur on Sunday last. The play talks about woman, who plays many roles in society as a wife, mother, sister, an elder, an officer, but she remains a helpless person in the bondage of needs. The writer wants the women to break the shackles of the patriarchal system, where women are subjected to violence.
The play was written as street play. Surabhi Ramesh, a family member of Surabhi, was happy to stage the play. Directed by Ramesh Sindhe, co-directed by Surabhi Santosh, music by Satyasrinath, technical support by Surabhi Uma Shankar and make-up and costumes by Phani Bhushan. The other artists include V. Anuradha, Surabhi Deepti, V. Veena, V. Tanmayi, V. Jahnavi, V. Chiranjeevi, V. Sai Shubhakar, M. Sai, R. Vamsi, A. Sandeep and V. Sairohit. The Telangana Language and Cultural Department also assisted in staging of the play. Tanikella Bharani was also present when the play was staged.
