For over two decades, Vamsi Madhavi has been practicing both dance forms, Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi with ease. For eight years, she trained in Kuchipudi under late Guru Hemadri Chidambara Dikshitulu, who hailed from the Kuchipudi village. She later took up Bharatanatyam under the guidance of Guru Rama Shrikanth and Padma Bhushan CV Chandrasekhar. She also featured in many of their productions.
Subsequently, Madhavi graduated as topper of her batch (1996-2001) from Kalakshetra, Chennai. Participating in many dance dramas of Kalakshetra, Madhavi portrayed many leading roles like Sita in Sabari Moksham, Rukmini in Rukmini Kalyanam and Devadasi Purandara Dasa. As part of the Kalakshetra troupe, Madhavi performed across the length and breadth of the country.
Madhavi is constantly engaged in propagating the beauty of Bharatanatyam in Kalakshetra style both by performing and teaching.
