Achutamanasa

Achutamansa, Kuchipudi dancer, has been performing for the last 27 years. She is the disciple of Guru Sri K. V. Subrahmanyam Garu in Kuchipudi from the past 24 years. She received her initial training for three years from Mahamkali Suryanarayana Garu and till date performs as lead in his Yakshaganams. She has over 1,000 solo performances to her credit.

An ‘A grade’ artist of National Doordarsan and empanelled artiste of ICCR and Ministry of Culture for Festivals of India & Abroad, Achutamanasa achieved distinction at Kuchipudi Kalapeetam, and followed it with Master of Performing Arts in Kuchipudi at Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University.  

H.H. Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji released Achuta’s Kuchipudi DVDS named “Kuchipudi Nrityabhinaya Vedam-Moksha Margam” in Telangana and also several places in Andhra Pradesh. Achuta’s idea of the DVD is to share the art for posterity and also share the profit of these DVDs with children living in Government homes. Achuta has been teaching Kuchipudi as part of an initiative called Kuchipudi-My life and one of her students also received the State award and President’s award.

The dancer is also proficient in “Temple Ritual Dance-Prekhini Natyam” solo recital, Simha Nandini, Mayurakavthavm, Mahalakshmi Udbhavam, where a dancer paints a picture though footwork. She was invited by the Embassy and Govt. of Turkmenistan to represent India and perform Kuchipudi as part of 70 years of Freedom Celebrations, 2017sponsored by MOC, FOI, Govt. of India. She presented her 90-minute thematic presentation ‘Swetcha Bharat ‘ in Kuchipudi with team of 14 live orchestra and received standing ovation all over Turkmenistan. She has the credit of introducing Kuchipudi in Turkmenistan.

She recently established Natyakalpa collaborating with various other reputed artists of varied art forms-classical dance forms and Fine arts of India to perform unique presentations at prestigious festivals. Achutamanasa’s Natyakalpa ensemble presented Panchatatva at International Partnership Summit-2018 and at Lepakshi festival 2018 with huge applause. Achutamanasa, being member of UNESCO International Dance Council since 2011 has been invited to 51st World Congress On Dance Research, held at Athens, Greece in July 2018. She has become the first Telugu-Indian from India to perform Kuchipudi in all the three categories (Exhibition, Workshop & Performance) and was also invited to the next World Congress in April 2019 at the Bahamas. She was invited as speaker and presenter to Austria for the International University for Global Theatre Experience.

Achutamanasa also established Kuchipudinatya Kalakshetra Temple for Natyayogam for all the aspirants of Kuchipudi, all classical dances of India and fine arts of India, there by sharing our divine arts to all the sectors irrespective of any barriers. She also performed as part of the historic moment of High court inauguration in Andhra Pradesh in front of Hon’ble CJI Sri Ranjan Gogoi, Hon’ble CM and all the judicial, executive fraternity in 2019.
