Artistic Director of ‘Paramathmika Natyashala’, Kavya Kasinathan, explaining about the production states that this brings out the saga of the youngest daughter-in-law of Mallanagowda’s family. “The production paints her innocence, happiness, love, separation and ultimately her sacrifice for the sake of humanity,” she says and adds: “Her life of sacrifice teaches us the power of strong will and resilience to stand by any decision we may take.”
Kavya says that the value of water can never be overestimated. “This dance production also stands as a metaphor drawing parallels between water and life. Choreographed by Natyacharya Mithun Shyam, “Bhagirathi” is a masterful confluence of folk and classical elements, bringing out the best flavours of both to highlight the rural life led by Bhagirathi,” she says.
The Bharatanatyam dancer says that the lyrics and musical composition done by Vid. Karthik Hebbar has an equal blend of folk and classical making it more captivating. Catch Kavya Kasinathan presenting this unique and novel thematic production at Seva Sadan, Malleswaram, Bangalore.
