Hyderabad-based Natya Parimala K Sneha Ramchander, Founder Sri Datta Kuchipudi Academy, had the privilege of performing in Bali, Indonesia, in the last week of April and was bestowed with an honour. Speaking exclusively to Natyahasini, Kuchipudi Guru, Sneha Ramachander says: “Royal King of Bali Dr. Ary Wedakarna presented me the Maha Bali award.”
She says that the event in Bali was organised in collaboration with ICCR, Bali University and Sangamam Global. “Also, after performing in Bali University, I had the privilege of performing at the feet of the Goddess of Learning, the Saraswati Temple in Bali,” Sneha says.
The dancer shares that at the Bali University, many distinguished gurus presented research articles and delighted the audiences with their performances. “With me, there was Guru Dr. Anuradha, who also hails from the Pearl City,” the Kuchipudi dancer states.
She also adds that from the Garden City of Bangalore, there were Gurus – Rama Prasad, Sutapradalaya Dance School; Dr. Sanjay Shantaram, Shivapriya School of Dance; Kanya Ramachandran Tayalia, Natyapriya; two from Sri Lanka – CV Nehru Niruthyakalalaya and Dr. Thakshayiny Paramadevan, senior lecturer in Dance, SVIAS- Eastern University; and Kala Ratna Nadana Siromani, Guru Kumudhini Sivanathan from Malaysia.
