It was melodious music lilting everyone’s hearts present at the Amphitheatre Shilparamam Madhapur on the occasion of Guru Pournima held under the banner “Venu Gaananjali” on Saturday last, July 24, 2021. Founder of Naada Ramanaeeyam, Vidwan Sri Shesham Ramana garu and his students paid their respects to their lineage of Gurus and especially to Sri V. Nagaraju garu under the Blue Skies, inviting the Blue God too to be a part of the show.
The evening began with obeisance to Lord Ganesha, a composition of Muttu Swamy Deekshitar – ‘Mahaganapathim’, set in Naata Raagam and Chaturasra Eka Talam. The second composition was Saint Tyagaraja’s – ‘Guruleka leka etuvanti guniki’, in Gouri Manohari Ragam and Khanda Chapu Talam. This was followed by two other Saint Tyagaraja compositions – ‘Naadathanumanisham’ and ‘Gaanamurthe’. Then came Kavi Subramanya Bharati’s ‘Chinnachiru’ set in Raagamalika and Adi Talam. It must be noted that the evening first five compositions were the favourites of Guru Sri. V Nagaraju Garu.
All the evening’s compositions were primarily of two popular composers – Saint Tyagaraja and Annamacharya. Tyagaraja’s ‘Samajavaragamana’ and ‘Kanugontini’ and even other Sri Rama pieces set the foot tapping. Annamayya’s ‘Muddugare Yashoda’ – a heart touching rendition and ‘Tandanana Ahe’ – all are one brought the curtains down on the evening’s flute recital.
Vidwan Sri Shesham Ramana was accompanied by Dr. Srikanth on the Tabla and Sri Sridharacharya on the Mridangam.
