Kuchipudi dancer Amy Kumar’s students under the banner of Prerna Pratibha presented an online Kuchipudi programme to celebrate the World Dance Day, which was hosted on the online platform of Our Sacred Space (OSS). The evening’s performance began with an invocatory piece to Lord Ganesha, ‘Gajavadana Beduve’, by students Anvitha and Goura. The next piece was ‘Puja Nrithyam’ by Sree Akshita, ‘Jattiswaram’ by Gowri, while Geetika performed ‘Kolavaithiva Ranga Sai’. Despite the lock down and with only online audiences, the students’ enthusiasm was very visible in their performances.
Segal, Yukta, Sayana, Manvi, Samveda and Aditi weaved magic with ‘Swara Pallavi’. Radha Prahalada performed ‘Dashavatraram’, Parinitha did ‘Krishna Shabdam’, while Goura, Anvitha and Anandi brought alive ‘Ramayana Shabdam’, and Tanushree brought the curtains down with ‘Thillana’. According to OSS spokesperson, there were 100 live watchers for the online event and it reached over 7,000 on FB in the next few hours.
